Our recommended system setup for accessing UOB Personal Internet Banking is as follows:
A. PC configuration:
- With Internet Connection
- Web Browser – Internet Explorer 5.X, 6.X, 7.0 & 8.0

To ensure you get the safest web browsing experience on our website, the Bank will only support newer versions of the following web browsers effective 17 November 2014. We recommend you use the following versions:
Internet Explorer 8.0, Chrome 17, Firefox 10, Safari 5.1.2
B. For added security, UOB uses Java login applet (with embedded Bank's Public Key) to encrypt your Password/PIN before it is transmitted to the Bank for verification.
- First, ensure that Java (JRE) is installed in your PC and that the JRE version is at least 1.3.1 and higher. Here's how to check that your PC

How to check your JRE version,
- Launch your Internet browser & Click "Tools" tab and select "Sun Java Console" from the menu

- Check that JRE version is at least version 1.3.1 and higher

- To check if your JRE is outdated, corrupted or JRE is not installed in your PC [+]

You will still not able to login even though you've keyed in your User ID & Password as the Internet Banking login page will still be shown.
- If your JRE is corrupted or JRE is not installed in your PC, please follow the steps below to install the latest version of JRE. [+]

- Go to www.java.com/getjava
- Click "Free Java Download". The site will detect your browser/operating system and present a compatible Java program for download and installation

- To download the software, click "Free Java Download" and the installation process will start to run

- Once installation is completed, check your JRE version again.
- Re-start the browser and login to UOB Personal Internet Banking

Once the browser Java version is correct, you must ensure that the Java is enabled. Without being Java-enabled the applet will not work and you will not be able to login to UOB Personal Internet Banking.
If not, you will be prompted with the following error message when you attempt to login to UOB Personal Internet Banking:
"Security applet cannot be loaded"
For Internet Explorer:
- In Internet Explorer, on the 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'.
- On the 'Privacy' tab, ensure that the slider is at the Medium security level.
- Click the 'Advanced' tab. Scroll down. Ensure that either of the following is checked:
- Under Java (IBM), 'Use Java 2... ‹ applet › (requires restart)'
OR
- Under Java (Sun), 'Use JRE... ‹ applet › (requires restart)'.
- Click 'OK' button to exit the dialogue box.
For Windows Vista user, please perform the following additional steps:
- Click on "Tools" on Internet Explorer menu bar.
- Click Manage Add-ons. In the Manage Add-ons window, kindly ensure that Tool Bars and Extensions are highlighted on the left hand side of the window.
- Look for "Web Browser Applet Control" & enable them.
C. Lastly enable the cookies
- For Internet Explorer 6.0 / 7.0 / 8.0 [+]

- In Internet Explorer, on the 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'.
- On the 'Security' tab, click the Globe 'Internet' icon and click the 'Custom Level' button.
- At the 'Reset Custom Settings' window, change the security level setting to 'Medium' and click 'Reset' and then 'OK'.
- Click 'OK'.
- On the 'Privacy' tab, click the 'Advanced…' button.
- At the Advance Privacy Settings window, check the box for 'Override automatic cookies handling'.
- Under 'First-party Cookies' and 'Third-party Cookies', ensure that the buttons at 'Accept' have been selected.
- Check the box next to 'Always allow session cookies'.
- Click 'OK'.
- For Internet Explorer 5.0 / 5.5 [+]
