UOB Malaysia rounds out 2013 with 11 industry awards
71 awards won at Group level a testimony to UOB's banking excellence across the region
Kuala Lumpur, 27 February 2014 - United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) won a total of 11 industry awards in 2013. These include an award for the best commercial bank in Malaysia by the London-based Global Banking and Finance Review, six awards for excellence in cash management by Asiamoney, and the "BluePrint Award for New Structured Finance Benchmark Deal" by the Rating Agency Malaysia.
Mr Wong Kim Choong, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Malaysia said, "These awards are recognition of our continued commitment and effort to support the needs of our customers and the growth of their businesses. Our business approach is to balance enterprise with prudence and stability, which enables us to build deep relationships with customers."
The 11 awards won by UOB Malaysia are part of the 71 banking accolades received by the United Overseas Bank Limited and its subsidiaries collectively (UOB Group) in 2013. The accolades include the prestigious "Bank of the Year, Singapore" award by The Banker, a London-based magazine published by the Financial Times.
The 71 awards won by the UOB Group cover various banking products and services, and range from investment and commercial banking to wealth management, financial products and mobile banking.
"Winning these awards is testimony to UOB's strength in Malaysia and across the region," said Mr Wong.
