UOB Malaysia appoints Mr Kevin Lam as Deputy CEO and Ms Annie Tan as Managing Director of Personal Financial Services
Kuala Lumpur, 29 October 2013 - United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) announced that Mr Kevin Lam Sai Yoke has been appointed its new Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Ms Annie Tan Huey Ping as Managing Director of Personal Financial Services.
As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lam will assist the Chief Executive Officer in the overall management of the Bank. Mr Lam will take responsibility for UOB Malaysia's Corporate, Commercial, Bumiputra, Transaction Banking and Investment Banking lines of business. He will also oversee UOB Malaysia's Technology and Operations, Special Asset Management, Brand Performance and Corporate Communications, and Customer Advocacy and Service Quality.
As Managing Director of Personal Financial Services, Ms Tan will be responsible for growing UOB Malaysia's retail banking customer base and for retaining existing customers. She will also be tasked with diversifying the income base from UOB Malaysia's cards, deposits, wealth management and mortgage businesses.

Mr Lam has been with UOB since 2005, first in Singapore and then in UOB Malaysia from 2011 as the Managing Director and Country Head of Personal Financial Services. Under his management, UOB Malaysia tripled its total consumer wealth fee income within three years. While in Singapore, he held various positions with UOB Group including Head of Loans and Head of Sales and Distribution. During his tenure, he increased UOB's home loan market share and led the sales divisions in achieving records in both loans and wealth management products from 2006 to 2010.
Mr Lam has also worked for several large international foreign banks and technology companies in Singapore, USA and Hong Kong for more that a decade before joining the UOB Group. In his 20 years of experience in the banking industry, he has held a range of positions in the areas of strategic planning, business management, product development, sales and distribution, technology and banking infrastructure development and other areas of corporate services.
Mr Lam holds a Business Administration degree from National University of Singapore.
Ms Tan brings with her more than 20 years of experience in retail banking and credit risk management. She was previously working with UOB Group Personal Financial Services in Singapore, assisting in the development and execution of the consumer banking services strategy. Ms Tan has worked with foreign banks for more than 20 years, overseeing various portfolios in consumer banking in Taiwan and Singapore. Ms Tan holds a Science degree from National University of Singapore.
Mr Lam will assume his duty on 1 December 2013 while Ms Tan's appointment is effective immediately.
